About the Lutheran Society of Missiology

The Lutheran Society for Missiology (LSFM) serves as an international Lutheran forum for the exchange of ideas and discussion of issues related to the global proclamation the Gospel of Jesus Christ so that there will be an increase in participation in God’s Mission.  We are a society of Lutherans who are interested in the Apostolic mission of God in today’s world. The Society was born on October 25, 1991, out of a concern to promote Biblical attitudes for missions. The Society:

  • Provides a forum for missiological research and critical reflection from a Lutheran perspective.
  • Publishes books and articles, especially case studies, which treat issues related to the study and practice of mission work.
  • Serves as a portal for accessing information from other Lutheran, and also evangelical, mission societies.
Promotes cutting-edge approaches to mission efforts through publications, recognition and awards.
